Bring your Game!

Since 2022, your Center Point eSport team has represented the district in this ever evolving field of competive digital gaming! eSports was started in 2022 with the assistance of Schreiner University’s eSports team. Schreiner’s team has come each year to provide additional information and tips.

Thank you, Schreiner University, for your guidance and help in making this program what it is today!

Mario Kart is a 4v4 team competition where players compete in 3 games consisting of 4 races each on randomly selected maps.

Super Smash Bros is a 3v3 team competition where each player competes individually. The match winner is the best of 5 sets. Each set is best of 3 games at 7 minutes long each and is 1v1.

Rocket League is a 3v3 team competition. The winner is determined by the best of five games.

On the xBox...

Madden and NBA 2K are best of 3 games in a 1v1 match.

We compete through the platform PlayVs Texas sponsored by the Houston Texans. There is a fall and a spring season for each game. Our team competes with other high schools from across Texas online. Each season consists of 2 weeks of pre-season, 8 weeks of regular season, and playoffs for the teams that qualify.

FAQ Section

As we implement our new ESports Club we’ve had lots of questions come up and we want to do our best to keep everyone informed.  Please see below for our latest FAQ!

If you have more questions? Please contact our club sponsor: Mrs. Kristi Morris - kmorris@cpisd.net

    • NO!!  The advantage of ESports is that there’s no season.  If your student plays any athletics sport they will have to wait to participate in eSports after that season is finished. Our goal is to provide a new opportunity at CPISD that other districts may not.  At the same time, we do not want to interfere with any other established sports or clubs.
    • Not this year.  ESports is a club.

    • Yes.  Even though there is no season we have a limited number of devices and our teams must be set to allow adequate practice time for competition.  Teams are set through a district tournament.  Only the top 5 students per game are eligible to be on the tournament teams.  However, alternate times will be available throughout the year for new students to the program to try out for various teams.

    • Yes, typically teams consist of 1 to 4 players.  Alternate team members will be announced following the district competitions and are allowed at practices.  If a team member is unable to make a tournament the alternate will be moved to the team temporarily.

    • We only offer after school practices for those who are eligible.  Remember - students who have other commitments such as athletics, tutorials, etc must fulfill those responsibilities first!
